I think the Sundance Flu‘s destroying angel has passed over my house, probably thanks to my covering the doorpost with the blood of Parker Posey. At any rate, I feel kind of OK, despite how not-OK I sound in this week’s podcast.
It’s a light week for the moving pictures anyway. Of the three wide releases, two of them — “The Eye” and “Strange Wilderness” — were not screened for critics. The third, “Over Her Dead Body,” benefits greatly from Paul Rudd and suffers mightily from Eva Longoria. But then, don’t we all. My review is at Film.com.
In limited release, there’s an excellent film called “Starting Out in the Evening” that you should check out. If the film had gotten more attention in December, I think Frank Langella could have found himself with an Oscar nomination.
Oh, apparently there’s also a Hannah Montana concert in 3-D playing at some theaters. In the words of Lucille Bluth, I don’t know who that is, and I don’t care to find out.
