The Toronto International Film Festival begins tomorrow, and for the first time in its history, it will be attended by me! Eric D. Snider!
This is a huge festival, both in size and importance, and I’m excited to be going. I’m officially covering it for Film.com (that’s what my press pass will say), but I’ll be doing stuff for Cinematical, too. You should keep an eye on both places over the next week.
I don’t know if I’ll be doing my daily festival diaries. Since I haven’t been to TIFF before, I don’t know if a) I’ll have time or b) there will be anything diary-worthy to write about. From what I gather, the situation for members of the press is that you watch a movie, then you get in line and watch another movie in the same venue, then you do that again two or three more times, then you go back to the hotel. I don’t know how much “atmosphere” or “scene” there is. But we’ll see.
There won’t be any “Snide Remarks” on Monday — hopefully I’ll have TIFF shenanigans to amuse you with instead — but “Eric’s Bad Movies” will be on its usual Thursday schedule at Film.com.
“In the Dark” will proceed normally, too, though there’s not much happening this week anyway.
I think that’s all. You kids behave while I’m out of the country. If you happen to be in Toronto, find me and say hello and buy me lunch!
