Hello! Your old pal Eric here, checking in with a status update!
September was a whirling tornado of adventure for me, with the Garrens Comedy Troupe 20th Anniversary Reunion Spectacular (a video is in the works), followed closely by a trip to Austin for Fantastic Fest, followed immediately by a visit to my ancestral homeland of Lake Elsinore, Calif., for my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary.
All three activities were wonderful, and I’m grateful to have been part of them. I loved seeing so many semi-distinct groups of people — my Utah friends, my comedy friends, my movie-blogger friends, and my family — all in such a short period of time, and to hug them and laugh with them and playfully punch a few of them in the crotch. That being said, I was on the road 16 out of 30 days in September, which is too much for me, and all my normal routines and work habits were knocked out of whack. Doing those terrific things meant not doing some of the things I usually do, including most of the things I do for a “living.”
Long story short: I’m glad to be nesting in my Portland hobbit hole again, and glad for a new month with no impending trips or distractions, and eager to get back into the swing of things. In the meantime, here’s what I did manage to write in September.
