This one made me laugh a lot. All you need to know is what’s in the “About This Video” tag: that it was written, edited, and directed by men. (Note: Contains some bleeped-out profanity.)[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pENwOBQihs]
And then there’s this, which is hilarious but unintentionally so. It’s a perfect storm of cheesy music, faux-deep lyrics, a goofy title, and a sincere but bizarre performance by a man who looks like a young Janet Jackson.

holy crap…that chocolate rain song goes on FOREVER
and he does look like a young janet jackson…creepy
I’ve seen some other songs buy that guy. They are all pretty weird.
If he’s really only breathing when he turns from the microphone, as indicated by the wonderful subtitle at the beginning, he’s only breathing about once a verse…
Listen close and you’ll see why he chose “Chocolate Rain” as the title for that song… it’s very subtle.
The period video was hilarious. The “Chocolate Rain” one was . . . creepy.
That Chocolate Rain thing cannot be serious. It just can’t. If I can write a better song, then it can’t be serious.
And I loved the period thing; I’m convinced that’s how men think we talk.
Oh, and my cat was HOWLING through the entire Chocolate Rain thing. I finally had to lock her out of the room to get her to shut up. “Somehow the animals are always the first to know….”
When the Chocolate Rain guy sang “Turns that body into GDP” I heard “Turns that body into genie pee.”
A couple of months ago a friend sent me this video predicting it as the next “Star Wars kid”
Apparently he was right. Here is Tay Zonday on Jimmy Kimmel:

And here is my favorite parody so far:
Everytime I hear Tay sing, I can’t help thinking of David Alan Grier in “Amazon Women on the Moon”. His “Blacks Without Soul” is still one of the most classic bits of comedy ever recorded on film.
Say what you will, but I kind of like that Chocolate Rain song. It made me laugh, although it was a bit long and quite repetitive. But what are you gonna do.
On 30 Rock last night, Tina Fey called Toofer “Chocolate Rain.”
The chocolate rain guy looks more like Jermaine Jackson to me… with the voice of Froggy from our gang…and the song writing ability of a puppy.
Its a beautiful day here in California. My window is open. The dogs next door started to howl when I put on Chocolate Rain. Stopped when I turned it off.
I’ve made me point then….
(Because subconsciously I’m a pirate.)
I think this is the best parody so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6dUCOS1bM0
Chad Vader is one of my favorite people on this earth.
